A nail biting online auction

An auction can be exciting at the best of times... throw in a house with subsidence, a seller in Australia and the agent in the UK!

Martin Bond Auctioneers recently ran a nail biting online auction with all the above thrown into the mix. The seller who is living in Australia and had been renting out the property for the last few years decided to sell up. However, things weren't going to be as straightforward as hoped. After an initial offer on the property an engineers report found that there was subsidence. The seller had to rethink their approach and working alongside Martin Bond Auctioneers came up with a solution that would satisfy both seller and ultimately buyer.

The property was sold by auction via the Offr button on Martin Bond's website. The auction was slow to start, with only a couple of bids being placed, until the final minute when bids started to come in fast, achieving the reserve and £52,000 beyond that.

The seller was able to watch online auction from the comfort of their home. The bidders could place bids via mobile from any location and on the sound of the gavel Martin could collect deposits and digitally sign contracts.
